Tottenham Hotspur make enquiry for Albert Gudmundsson

Tottenham have reportedly enquired about Albert Gudmundsson ahead of the summer, with the Genoa star attracting massive interest.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Tottenham are one of the clubs actively chasing Albert Gudmundsson and has already made an enquiry. Genoa are resigned to losing their star forward, with the €30 million-rated Serie A attacker entering the next window with a massive following, primarily from Italy.

Tottenham make Albert Gudmundsson’s enquiry

Tottenham are seriously considering more attacking signings, with Ange Postecoglou still figuring out the exact position he wants to recruit. The idea is that the Spurs need to replace Harry Kane properly, which could allow them to target a new striker, although the Australians might look for a more versatile option.

Hence, there are rumours about Tottenham’s interest in Albert Gudmundsson. The north Londoners have excellent relations with Geno following the transfer of Radu Dragusin in the winter window, during which they might have also enquired about the Icelandic attacker.

Genoa wanted €35 million, as per a previous report, although they were unwilling to go below the minimum mark of €30 million for the attacker. It’s easily in the price range in Tottenham’s sights, and Gudmundsson is a player who might fit in well with the way Postecoglou’s side likes to play.

A versatile attacker who can take up positions on either wing and play up front or behind the striker. His presence would allow Tottenham to have a player with the element of surprise in their squad, which they might currently lack. However, the big issue for Spurs is the interest from other sides, particularly those from Italy, as the €30 million-rated Serie A attacker has come in massive demand.

Tottenham face Serie A challenge for Gundmundsson

Spurs may have an appeal, especially if they finish in the top four by the end of the season. However, in the race for Gudmundsson, they face formidable challenges ahead, particularly from those in Italy, as a range of clubs is seeking the €30 million-rated Serie A attacker’s signature.

Inter Milan is poised to move for the Genoa forward as Simone Inzaghi may seek a mini-revamp of his forward options. Juventus are also in the race and could look to replace a big player in their current squad who might leave. Hence, while Spurs are open to offering a move to London and the Premier League, some high-profile sides are chasing Gudmundsson.
