FPL Tips for Gameweek 27: Best Differentials to Target

The Hard Tackle lists the best differentials to target for your teams heading into Gameweek 27 of the 2023/24 FPL season.

The games continue to come thick and fast across Europe, and Gameweek 27 of the 2023/24 Premier League season will begin on Saturday. With a Double Gameweek and a Blank Gameweek coming, managers will have one eye on those special rounds of fixtures while making changes to their teams in FPL this weekend.

Differentials also hold the key for FPL managers while making their decisions. So, we have combined both factors while also recommending a few players who do not have as big an upside as participating in the DGW or BGW in the coming weeks.

Nevertheless, we have produced a list of the five best differentials to target heading into Gameweek 27, and we have covered defenders, midfielders and forwards. With that in mind, here are the top differential candidates for the latest round of fixtures.

Marcos Senesi (TSB 4.4%)

It might be surprising to see Marcos Senesi kicking things off on the list of the best differentials for Gameweek 27. Bournemouth’s defensive solidity has reduced in the last few weeks, and they last kept a clean sheet against Fulham in Gameweek 19.

So, the Cherries are yet to keep a clean sheet in the second half of the 2023/24 season. That shut-out against Fulham was also the last time Bournemouth won a game. However, they have three enticing fixtures coming up, as they face the three teams in the relegation zone, including a double-header in Gameweek 28.

So, investing in Senesi might be worthwhile, considering the threat he poses in the final third with his set-piece prowess. No defender has scored more goals than the Argentine, who also has two assists to his name. So, expect Senesi to shine in Bournemouth’s next three games.

Simon Adingra (TSB 1.3%)

The first of our midfield candidates hails from Brighton & Hove Albion. While the Seagulls have been incredibly erratic thus far this season, Simon Adingra has been one of the bright spots in a frustrating campaign.

The Ivory Coast international is also playing with a spring in his step after returning from his nation’s Africa Cup of Nations-winning campaign. Meanwhile, the 22-year-old has captured the attention of a few high-profile clubs, including Chelsea.

Adingra tends to produce big hauls when he completes 90 minutes. He has amassed a double-figure haul in FPL in his last two completed matches, including an outing that netted 15 points. So, with Brighton facing a vulnerable Fulham this weekend, the Chelsea target might fancy his chances of delivering the goods.

Leon Bailey (TSB 4.2%)

Our midfield shortlist continues with another player who has been a shining light for his team for much of the 2023/24 campaign. We are talking about Leon Bailey, Aston Villa’s wide-attacking maestro.

Douglas Luiz might have outshined the Jamaican international, but Bailey has still made his mark for much of the 2023/24 campaign. He comes into the latest round of fixtures on the back of an impressive 12-point haul last weekend against Nottingham Forest.

The 26-year-old has been excellent in the last few weeks, grabbing a haul in five of his most recent seven outings in FPL. And after getting into the double digits last weekend, he will be eager to stamp his authority against a struggling Luton Town defence.

Cody Gakpo (TSB 2.5%)

We are now into the forwards, and our two picks have an ownership figure of less than 4.5%. Nevertheless, these men can bring value to your FPL squads as you look to claw your way back in the ranking and achieve your objective. Our first candidate is Cody Gakpo.

The Dutch attacker is benefitting from the injury crisis in Liverpool’s first-team squad, with many pivotal figures missing due to long-term issues. The Reds’ attack has also suffered, with Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah, and Darwin Nunez on the sidelines nursing their injuries.

Gakpo has looked decent, and Jota’s potentially long spell in the treatment room means Gakpo will get an extended run in the team. With Liverpool facing a vulnerable Nottingham Forest defence, Gakpo will fancy his chances of delivering the goods and grabbing a solid haul, which might help him nail down his spot in the team.

Carlton Morris (TSB 4.2%)

Our list ends with another forward, and we have picked Luton Town striker Carlton Morris, who features in only 4.2% of the teams. That ownership figure is surprising, considering he is one of the most in-form players in FPL heading into Gameweek 27.

The 28-year-old might have blanked in his second appearance in Gameweek 25. But he grabbed a haul in his five outings before the clash with Liverpool last week. He has found the back of the net four times while providing an assist once.

While the Aston Villa defence might be tricky to overcome, Morris will fancy his prospects. But more importantly, investing in the Englishman will set you up nicely for Gameweek 28, where Luton Town will have two eye-catching fixtures.
