Barcelona battle Manchester United, Tottenham for Roony Bardghji

Barcelona are ready to battle it out with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur for Swedish sensation Roony Bardghji.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur are all keen on having Roony Bardghji in their ranks ahead of next season. The 18-year-old sensation has already made quite a name for himself, and clubs from across Europe are monitoring his situation at FC Copenhagen.

Bardghji’s impressive rise & his current situation at Copenhagen

Roony Bardghji has been a part of the Danish club since the summer of 2020. He was promoted to their first team in the winter of 2022 and has since gone from strength to strength. So far, he has featured in 71 matches for them and has contributed towards 16 goals.

In the ongoing season, the teenager has featured in 30 matches and has racked up over 1,500 minutes. The right-winger has even contributed with 11 goals. His red-hot form has resulted in interest from across Europe, and there could be a bidding war for him in the summer.

The 18-year-old has not featured for Copenhagen since the turn of the year and as per Romano, that is because he has declined to pen down a new deal with the Danish club. The teenager does not want to commit his long-term future to the club amidst interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

His current contract runs out at the end of 2025, which means he will only have 18 months left on his deal during the summer transfer window. If he does not pen down an extension by then, Copenhagen will not have many options to play with. They will prefer sanctioning his departure rather than losing out on him for free.

European giants after Bardghji’s signatures

Meanwhile, Barcelona, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur are all keen on having him in their ranks, and they have scouted him on multiple occasions in 2023. They are aware of his current situation in Copenhagen and are prepared to make a bid if an opportunity presents itself in the summer.

The Catalan giants do need attacking reinforcement and feel Bardghji could be a great signing with the future in mind. But, their financial situation will make it difficult for them to compete with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Red Devils are not happy with the output of their right-wingers. And, with Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood’s future uncertain and the clubs focused on signing young prospects under Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the 18-year-old seems to be an ideal fit.

As far as Tottenham are concerned, they want to add more depth on the flanks so that they can use Son Heung-min and Ricahrlison in a more central role. Bardghji has been on their radar for quite a while, and they are willing to go as hard as possible to have him in their ranks.
