Arsenal are interested in having 22-year-old Ajax shot-stopper Diant Ramaj in their ranks ahead of next season.
According to a report by Football Transfers, Arsenal are keen on reinforcing their goalkeeping position in the next summer transfer window and have their eyes set on Diant Ramaj. The 22-year-old German goalkeeper has made quite a name for himself of late. His impressive performances and huge potential haven’t gone unnoticed.
Ramaj joined Ajax ahead of the ongoing season. He hasn’t really had the best of times since making the move to the Netherlands, and that is because of the overall form of the team. The Dutch giants have struggled, and it has also affected the 22-year-old.
Despite only keeping three clean sheets in 21 outings this term, Ramaj has managed to impress clubs that are keeping a close eye on him. He is considered to be a huge prospect for the future, and there could be a bidding war for him in the summer.
Arsenal have been monitoring the German youth international since his days at Eintracht Frankfurt and are now ready to make a move for his services. The 22-year-old is exactly the kind of keeper Mikel Arteta wants in his system.
Ramaj is good on the ball, he is quick on his line and can help them play out from the back. The Gunners are looking at him as a potential replacement for Aaron Ramsdale, who is no longer happy at the club.
The 25-year-old was their number one under Arteta, but that has changed in the ongoing season. The North London club had signed David Raya from Brentford in the summer, and he has now taken over as the preferred choice in goal.
The Gunners had signed him on a season-long loan with a buy option worth £27 million. They are expected to trigger it at the end of the season. With Raya likely to continue at Arsenal, the England international is unlikely to regain his position.
While Arteta has talked about the importance of having two world-class goalkeepers in his ranks, Ramsdale has no intentions of being backup and will most likely look to leave in the summe.
If Ramsdale does leave, the Gunners will push for Diant Ramaj, who still has over four years left in his deal. But, since Ajax need funds to reinforce their squad, they could sanction his departure for a fee of around €15 million.
