Chelsea keeping tabs on Lamine Camara, player does not want move

Chelsea are closely monitoring 20-year-old Ligue 1 midfield sensation Lamine Camara who is not keen on a move.

According to a report by Le10Sport, Chelsea are interested in securing the services of Lamine Camara and they have been monitoring him of late. The Blues would love to sign him in the near future but he seems to have other plans at this stage of his career.

Camara joined French club FC Metz at the start of 2023. He started off with their B team and within six months, the 20-year-old was promoted to their first team. He has featured in a total of 23 matches for their first team, 19 of those have come this season.

He has already established himself as a mainstay at the French club. Camara had an exceptional Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal. He managed to break into the first team and kept Gana Gueye, the former PSG star on the bench.

His impressive performances for club and country and his versatility have attracted a lot of attention. The player is capable enough to play in an attacking, central and defensive role in the centre of the park. As per the report, Multiple clubs from across Europe enquired about him during the recently concluded winter transfer window.

Chelsea are one of the biggest contenders for his signatures, the Blues are quite keen on having him in their ranks. They have already contacted the French club and the player’s representatives to discuss a potential deal.

The Blues are always on the lookout for players with high huge potential and the 20-year-old seems to be the ideal fit for them. However, the player seems to have different ideas. Camara is not keen on making a move to Chelsea at this stage.

He doesn’t want to move to the Premier League, it is not a part of his short-term plans. The 20-year-old prefers staying at FC Mertz or any other club in France. He wants to improve further before thinking of moving abroad. Chelsea are monitoring him very closely and they will try to convince him. It will be interesting to see if they can make things happen.
