Tottenham weighing up last-gasp move for Dominic Solanke

Premier League heavyweights Tottenham are reportedly contemplating a late move for Dominic Solanke, valued at £50 million by Bournemouth.

According to a report by The Sun, Dominic Solanke is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The North London giants are in the market for a striker in the final hours of the winter transfer window. The Bournemouth striker has thus emerged as a viable target for them, with Bournemouth slapping a price tag of £50 million on him.

Dominic Solanke at Bournemouth: The Story So Far

Dominic Solanke has found a stable footing since joining Bournemouth in January 2019. The 26-year-old had previously represented Chelsea and Liverpool, graduating from the West London outfit’s youth division. But he could not establish a foothold at either club before Bournemouth snapped him up.

The English striker has gradually risen in stature but has been excellent since Bournemouth returned to the Premier League. He has been exceptional in the 2023/24 season, in particular, amassing 14 goals and two assists in 24 appearances thus far. Meanwhile, Solanke’s progress at the Vitality Stadium has not gone unnoticed.

Recent reports have linked the former Chelsea and Liverpool striker with Arsenal and Newcastle United. He is also a target for Tottenham Hotspur, who will look to execute a late winter move for the Bournemouth attacker. Meanwhile, the Cherries want around £50 million to part ways with Dominic Solanke.

Tottenham Want Dominic Solanke This Winter

Tottenham’s interest in Solanke is understandable. The North London club parted ways with Harry Kane in the summer transfer window. While the England captain’s departure has not affected Tottenham much, they can still do with a prolific attacker to take the load off Son Heung-min and Richarlison.

Dominic Solanke has thus emerged as a viable target for Tottenham. And the North London giants are eyeing a last-gasp move to sign the 26-year-old English striker. But it is unclear if they are willing to meet Bournemouth’s valuation and pay £50 million to secure his services.

Solanke can be a superb addition to the first-team squad at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. But with Bournemouth having the ambition to mount a top-half challenge, it will be interesting to see if they entertain offers for the Englishman or sell him for around £50 million.
