Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea are scouting the 24-year-old Montpellier forward Akor Adams ahead of a potential move.
According to a report by HITC, Chelsea are always on the lookout for players who can help further bolster their squad. Akor Adams from Montpellier is a player who has been on their radar and they have been scouting him of late as they prepare to put forward a bid for his services.
Adams was a part of Lillestrøm for 18 months before joining the French club last summer. Since joining Montpellier, the 24-year-old has featured in a total of 19 matches and has racked up close to 1,600 minutes. The Nigerian youth international has found the back of the net on seven occasions so far.
His impressive performances have resulted in a lot of interest from across Europe. While he still has well over three years left on his deal with the French club, there is a real possibility of him parting ways in the near future.
The 24-year-old is yet to play for the Nigerian national team but given his recent form, he could soon get a call-up. The Blues have done a decent job in the 2023/24 season so far but things could have been better if they had a quality number nine in their ranks.

Meanwhile, the Blues have been offered the opportunity to sign multiple forwards so far this month. Chelsea are well aware of the fact that they need to improve in that area going forward. With Armando Broja’s future uncertain, their interest in Adams is quite understandable. But, it will be interesting to see if they and when they make a move for the Ligue 1 striker.
