Tottenham could include Djed Spence in deal to sign Radu Dragusin

Tottenham are ready to include Djed Spence in the deal to sign Radu Dragusin, with the right-back likely to go on a loan deal.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Genoa are ready to accept a new proposal from Tottenham for Radu Dragusin, which could include Djed Spence. The right-back remains an unwanted part of Spurs’ plans and could go on loan to Genoa until the end of the season.

Tottenham included Djed Spence in the Radu Dragusin deal.

Tottenham have come close to losing sight of primary defensive target Radu Dragusin on numerous occasions in the last few days alone. Spurs were negotiating at an advanced stage, only for other clubs to enter the race and threaten to derail their move.

Napoli entered the hunt earlier with Dragusin giving encouraging signals to the Serie A champions about a move. Tottenham had not agreed with Genoa as they were nowhere close to their €30 million asking price, which could include add-ons.

Bayern Munich then made an offer which was the best Genoa received, and now Tottenham have re-emerged in the race as they want to reach an agreement quickly. As per Fabrizio Romano, Genoa are now ready to accept Djed Spence as part of the deal, along with €25 million in fixed fees and another €5 million in add-ons.

Spurs might get the nod from the Italian side to sign their top defensive target, as Ange Postecoglou’s side could beat the competition for the Romanian defender. Using the unwanted 23-year-old right back for the Genoa star could prove a master stroke.

Djed Spence’s future at Tottenham

Spence returned from an underwhelming loan spell with Leeds United once the January window opened. Tottenham also saw Sergio Reguilon return from Manchester United, who activated the break clause in his contract.

Spence was once considered one of the brightest emerging right-backs in England but now finds himself in the unwanted territory with his future in the balance. Tottenham are ready to sell him, but the opportunity to send him on loan to Genoa could eventually land them their primary defensive target in Dragusin.

Whether Genoa would ask for a buy option in the loan agreement remains the question. Tottenham would seem happy to find a permanent suitor for the 23-year-old once his loan spell with Genoa ends in the summer, as they do not view him in their plans.
