Jurgen Klopp prioritising Pedro Neto as Mohamed Salah replacement

Jurgen Klopp has identified Pedro Neto as the ideal Mohamed Salah alternative if he cannot get some of his other preferred targets.

According to Fichajes, Pedro Neto could become a priority signing for Jurgen Klopp to replace Mohamed Salah. The Wolves winger has plenty of interest from many clubs, including Arsenal, but Liverpool’s entry in the chase could add a new twist.

Jurgen Klopp wants Pedro Neto

The choice of Pedro Neto for any big club might become the norm as the Wolves winger continues to perform at the highest levels. He has already missed a part of the season with a hamstring problem, yet his numbers suggest otherwise and reflect on his solid output.

Liverpool’s interest in Neto could come from their aggressively looking at multiple options to replace Mohamed Salah in the summer. The Portuguese winger brings a versatile presence and can play on either flank, depending on the system.

The report talks about Liverpool’s interest in Kylian Mbappe, who Klopp reportedly considers the best available replacement for Salah. Yet there are significant doubts about whether he would shy away from a move to Real Madrid, and if the Frenchman does not arrive at Anfield, then Klopp would ideally want Neto.

The 24-year-old Arsenal target could prepare himself for a big move, but that could only happen in the summer. The Gunners are already planning an approach, having shelved their plans for Neto in January. With Liverpool in the race, the Premier League giants could battle it out for the Portuguese winger.

Arsenal are also keen on Neto

Arsenal have held a longstanding interest in the 24-year-old winger, with Mikel Arteta reportedly attempting to sign him previously. With the Gunners still looking for a top-draw attacker to arrive, Neto might become a big signing for them next summer.

Liverpool are also looking at him, but they have earmarked plenty of other options as the ideal replacement for Salah. The Egyptian continues to garner interest from Saudi Arabia, with Al-Hilal becoming the latest club to join the race.

As for Neto, he will have plenty of suitors, knowing that Wolves will hold out for a considerable fee. The 24-year-old will not have the chance to move clubs in January as Gary O’Neil will want him in the side for the remainder of the campaign, although things have changed rapidly in the transfer market before.
