Jurgen Klopp is pushing Liverpool to make their move for PSV Eindhoven star Johan Bakayoko.
According to Fichajes, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is very keen for the Reds to make a move for PSV Eindhoven sensation Johan Bakayoko.
The young Dutchman has been a standout performer for the Eredivisie giants and continues to draw attention thanks to his scintillating ability on the ball. With four goals and 13 assists across 27 appearances in all competitions, Bakayoko certainly is ready for the big stage.
Just 20, Bakayoko has the best years of his career ahead of him. Brentford came close to securing his services in the summer and the Bees can now lament over what could have been a coup for them. Liverpool are now bracing themselves as the 2024 January transfer window draws near.
The Reds already have arguably the world’s best right-winger in their ranks- Mohamed Salah. While the Egyptian is not getting any younger, a strong interest in his services from Saudi Arabia means the Merseysiders will need to prepare contingency plans.
Klopp appears particularly keen to land Bakayoko and the onus is now on the recruitment team to get it done. Not only will the German land himself a potential worldbeater but will also future-proof a key role in his frontline for the upcoming decade.
Whether or not Salah stays, it cannot be argued that his powers though yet substantial are on the wane. It makes sense for the Reds to cash in on the 31-year-old should a mammoth offer materialise and then continue their rebuild. Securing Bakayoko will give Klopp a new project in the right-wing role while also potentially freeing up money that can be used to reinforce other areas of the roster.
With the Reds very much in the Premier League title race, all eyes will be on them next January. Bringing in the right player will certainly aid their cause and could prove to have a galvanising effect on a side that is being revamped. Bakayoko is not yet at Salah’s level, but if he can live up to expectations, the Reds will once again secure a win in the transfer market by landing an absolute gem.
