LOSC Lille have slapped a £45 million price tag on 18-year-old defender Leny Yoro as a host of clubs circle for his signature.
According to TEAMtalk, LOSC Lille have placed a £45 million price tag on Leny Yoro, which does not include add-ons and bonuses. Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are among the sides keen on a January move for the 18-year-old, who is also a target for Real Madrid.
Real Madrid, Chelsea, Liverpool or Manchester United: Where Will Leny Yoro Land?
Real Madrid have come into the focus of the media as the January transfer window inches closer. Carlo Ancelotti’s side lost key centre-back David Alaba to a season-ending knee injury that will pull the Spanish giants into the market for a new defender.
They have already lost Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao for the remainder of the season, and Ancelotti insisted they would get a deal done if the right player became available. Leny Yoro recently emerged on Real Madrid’s list as a potential defensive signing, with the 18-year-old thoroughly impressing with his performances this season.
LOSC Lille have one of the most talented young defenders on their hands, and they are working hard to secure their prized asset to a new contract. However, they fear PSG and other top clubs could turn the 18-year-old’s head, making him leave the Ligue 1 outfit.
Incidentally, there are a host of Premier League clubs keen on the teenager, as Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United have sights set on Yoro as a potential January signing. The English trio are in the market for a centre-back and might as well look to invest in such a promising talent.
Chelsea have appeared on the forefront to sign the best youth talents from around, and they will come into the mix for Yoro. The Blues do have a decent stable of central defenders. But the prospect of signing the 18-year-old would appeal to the ownership.
Liverpool have also suffered an injury blow with a knee injury to Joel Matip, leaving Jurgen Klopp falling short of options at the back. Manchester United are also in the mix for a defender, and in the latter’s case, the financial implication of signing someone like Yoro might play a part.
Lille have slapped a £45 million price tag on the 18-year-old Real Madrid target, which does not include add-ons or sell-on clauses. Hence, interested clubs might have to pay £45 million as their base price in January and then negotiate with Les Dogues over the other inclusions.
That is a steep price for a teenager, but those clubs have seen what he brings to the table. Yoro has started 15 Ligue 1 games this season and completed 14 entire fixtures. He has proven himself with performances beyond his age, which remains a significant factor why so many clubs are keen to sign him immediately.
