Bayern Munich rival Barcelona in Viktor Tsygankov pursuit

Bayern Munich will reportedly compete with La Liga champions Barcelona for 26-year-old Girona winger Viktor Tsygankov.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Viktor Tsygankov is the subject of interest from Bayern Munich. The Bavarian giants are in the market for a winger heading into the January transfer window. They will compete with La Liga champions Barcelona for the 26-year-old Girona winger.

Who is Viktor Tsygankov?

Viktor Tsygankov has established himself as a pivotal figure for Girona since arriving from Dynamo Kyiv in January 2023. The Ukrainian international is a graduate of the Dynamo Kyiv youth division and spent most of his professional career with the Blue and Whites.

The 26-year-old has come leaps and bounds during his ongoing stint with Girona, becoming an underrated performer in La Liga. But Tsygankov’s tally of three goals and three assists in 16 appearances might not inspire much confidence. However, he has played his part in the Catalan club’s rise to the summit of La Liga.

Tsygankov’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of many high-profile clubs. Reports in October linked the 26-year-old with Barcelona, who will look to sign him as a replacement for Raphinha. But the reigning La Liga champions face stiff competition from Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich or Barceona: Where Will Tsygankov Land?

The Bundesliga champions are in the market for a wide attacker amid uncertainties surrounding the futures of Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry. Recent reports have linked the duo with summer moves away from Bayern Munich. So, the Bavarian giants are scouring the market for a replacement, with Viktor Tsygankov emerging as a viable target.

As for Barcelona, Raphinha’s future is uncertain amid his links with Premier League clubs and Saudi Pro League outfits. So, the reigning La Liga champions are considering dipping their toes in the market for a winger. The 26-year-old Girona attacker is thus an option worth considering for Barcelona.

Bayern Munich’s entry into the equation spices things up. So, it will be interesting to see if the Blaugrana can keep Viktor Tsygankov in La Liga or if the Ukrainian international moves to the Bundesliga next year.
