West Ham United battle Manchester United, Newcastle United for Serhou Guirassy

West Ham United have joined the race for Serhou Guirassy, with Manchester United and Newcastle United also chasing his signature.

According to Calcio Mercato, West Ham United ponders entering the race for Serhou Guirassy ahead of January. Manchester United and Newcastle United remain linked with the 27-year-old striker, who has a modest £15 million release clause in his Stuttgart contract.

Serhou Guirassy has caused quite a stir in the transfer market after a stellar season with Stuttgart. He has 18 goals across all competitions in 13 games, with the latest coming last weekend against Werder Bremen in a 2-0 win.

Stuttgart would pin all their hopes on his current form. A £15 million release clause in his contract could force them to sell. AC Milan, Manchester United and Newcastle United are reportedly interested in the 27-year-old.

Guirassy remains open to making a giant leap to a top club and furthering his career, with Manchester United pushing to sign him. The 27-year-old striker was reportedly flattered by their interest. Erik ten Hag wants someone to improve their attack and complement big summer signing Rasmus Hojlund.

Newcastle United were the first to make a move, with Eddie Howe keen on adding to his strike force. There are concerns with Alexander Isak and Calum Wilson’s fitness, meaning a new striker remains part of their agenda.

West Ham United have joined in the hunt, with David Moyes’ need for a new frontman no secret. The Hammers boss had wanted one during the summer after the same of Gianluca Scamacca. There’s more emphasis on bringing a new forward after the injury to Michail Antonio, who will miss a considerable period with a knee problem.

They have already suffered disappointments in the chase for Timo Werner, Dominic Solanke and Hugo Ekitike. Chasing Guirassy seems like a good idea for Moyes as he considers bringing a prolific option.

The 27-year-old striker will think about West Ham. The London side are not as flattering as Manchester United or Newcastle United. The Hammers can offer regular game time and the chance to compete with their starting striker, which may appear unlikely at the other clubs.

Hence, The Hammers have an equal chance of signing him. If Guirassy indicates a move, West Ham may not waste any time triggering his £15 million release clause and bringing him to the London Stadium.
