Newcastle United are hoping to improve their attacking options and have made an approach to sign the VFB Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy.

A report from TEAMtalk has claimed that Newcastle United have spoken with the agents of Serhour Guirassy and Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart regarding the structure of the deal. The 27-year-old has been one of the best strikers in Europe this season, scoring 16 goals in just ten appearances.

The striker reportedly has a £15 million release clause in his contract. So, it is no surprise that clubs like Newcastle United are circling around him. The Magpies need to add more quality and depth to their attack, and the 27-year-old could prove to be a quality acquisition.

Guirassy is at the peak of his powers, and he could make an immediate impact at the Premier League club and transform them going forward. Although Newcastle have Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak at their disposal, both players have struggled with fitness issues. So, Newcastle need more depth in the final third.

The 27-year-old will be tempted to move to the Premier League, and the opportunity to play for a Champions League-level club can be hard to turn down. It would be a major step up in his career, and it remains to be seen whether the two clubs can come to an agreement soon.

He has proven himself in the Bundesliga and will want to test himself at the highest level in the Premier League now. Newcastle United are one of the wealthiest clubs in the world, and they have the financial resources to pay his £15 million release clause.

Newcastle have had a mediocre start to the current campaign so far, and they need more quality in the side in order to secure UEFA Champions League qualification. They must look to bring the right additions in January to finish the season strongly.

So, someone like Guirassy could help them secure a top-four finish. The 27-year-old has the physicality and technical attributes to thrive in English football, and the fans will hope that he can turn out to be a bargain signing for them if the deal goes through.
