Real Sociedad are one of the clubs keen on signing Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood, with Valencia and Getafe also interested.
According to Fichajes, Real Sociedad are vying to sign Mason Greenwood next summer after the 22-year-old forward’s impressive start with Getafe. Valencia are also keen on the attacker, with the La Liga duo likely to push Getafe down the pecking order in the chase.
Getafe took the gamble to improve their squad during the summer with the risky signing of Mason Greenwood. The 22-year-old Manchester United forward, mired by legal issues in the background, has no future at Old Trafford. A temporary switch to the Spanish side was the only avenue to continue his career.
Greenwood had hoped to return to Manchester United. But public opinion remains against the 22-year-old, which could see him move on. His loan spell at Getafe has been successful so far. The attacker has scored four times and provided three assists in eleven games across all competitions.
Getafe are reportedly impressed with the striker and are open to permanently signing him. Some sections of their fanbase are likely to oppose the move. The La Liga side might want to act fast to snap him up when the chance is proper, considering other Spanish clubs are also keen on Greenwood.
Greenwood remains open to joining Getafe if they are his only avenue to continue playing at the top level, but now things have changed a bit. Real Sociedad and Valencia are both interested in signing the 22-year-old forward.
Real Sociedad might keep playing in the Champions League, which could boost Greenwood’s career path in the future. Valencia might have hoped to lure him on the cheap and get a talented footballer in their ranks to improve their standings.
Real Sociedad want to improve their team by adding good players. They are now considering buying cheaper Premier League stars. Manchester United will show eagerness to sell Greenwood, who still has a contract until 2025 at Old Trafford.
Getting a fee would please the Manchester United board, who are eager to part ways with the beleaguered striker once and for all. Real Sociedad and Valencia may compete, but Getafe plans to talk to Greenwood and the Red Devils about signing him.
