Barcelona might soon present a bid worth €15 million to beat Manchester City to 20-year-old Spanish whizkid Alberto Moleiro.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Alberto Moleiro is the subject of interest from Barcelona. The reigning La Liga champions are keen on getting ahead of the chasing pack and have prepared a bid worth €15 million to sign the 20-year-old whizkid. Meanwhile, the UD Las Palmas prospect is also a target for Manchester City.
Alberto Moleiro has been on the radar of many high-profile outfits across Europe in the last two years. After the phenomenal success of Pedri at FC Barcelona, big-name clubs have set their sights on UD Las Palmas. That has brought their attention to the Spanish whizkid, who has been on a roll for some time.
The 20-year-old has completed half a decade at UD Las Palmas and made his first-team debut as a 17-year-old in August 2021. Since then, he has grown in stature at the Gran Canarian club, turning out 85 times while chipping in with five goals and ten assists. As iterated, Moleiro’s progress has not gone unnoticed, alerting many European bigwigs.
Recent reports have linked the Spaniard with Real Madrid. But the update by Fichajes does not mention Los Blancos, instead suggesting he is a target for Barcelona, Manchester City, and AC Milan. And the reigning La Liga champions are formulating a bid to secure Moleiro’s services next year.
The 20-year-old Spanish whizkid has been on Barcelona’s radar for a long time. The report claims that the Catalan giants are ready to offer €15 million to beat the competition to Moleiro’s signature. And considering Ilkay Gundogan is on the wrong side of 30, the youngster can be the German international’s long-term replacement after learning the ropes from him.
As for Manchester City, the treble winners are in a spot of bother over Bernardo Silva’s future. While the Portuguese playmaker’s contract is not running out anytime soon, he is keen on trying out a new adventure. In addition, Kevin De Bruyne is on the wrong side of 30. So, it behoves Manchester City to invest in someone like Moleiro, who can benefit from Pep Guardiola’s coaching.
