Barcelona, Real Madrid vying for Guilherme ‘Gui’ Ruck

Barcelona and Real Madrid are reportedly among the clubs keen on 14-year-old Real Valladolid midfield sensation Guilherme Ruck.

According to a report by Spanish outlet SPORT, Guilherme Ruck is gaining popularity in the market. The 14-year-old midfield sensation has been taking age-group football by storm in Spain with Real Valladolid. Barcelona and Real Madrid are among the clubs looking to land the teenage wonderkid.

Guilherme Ruck, better known as ‘Gui’ in footballing circles, is a midfielder of Brazilian origin. But the youngster left his homeland to move to Europe in 2017, with Vitoria de Guimaraes snapping him up. The teenager then had short stints at SC Braga, FC Porto and Rayo Majadahonda before landing at Real Valladolid.

Valladolid signed Gui last year, and he has taken age-group football by storm in Spain in the 15 months since then. Still aged only 14, the young midfield sensation is one of the brightest young prospects in the country. Meanwhile, his progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of the two biggest La Liga clubs, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are renowned for constantly scouring the markets across the world for the most promising prodigies. Such an outlook has helped them sign players who are currently pivotal figures in their first teams. These include Pedri, Gavi, Vinicius Junior, and Federico Valverde, among others.

The two La Liga heavyweights have also locked horns for mutual targets for several years. These include Pablo Torre, who joined Barcelona, and Vitor Roque, who will officially complete the move to Real Madrid next year. Guilherme Ruck has now emerged on the radar of Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The two clubs have also shown interest in other promising prospects like Luis Guilherme. Meanwhile, well-established stars like Leroy Sane and Santiago Gimenez are also on their radar. Now, Gui will be the subject of a transfer battle involving Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Barcelona and Real Madrid will assign Gui to their respective youth teams if he arrives from Real Valladolid. But other high-profile clubs are also keen, while Real Valladolid will attempt to keep hold of him and convince him that they will be the best place for him to progress in the coming years.
