AC Milan join West Ham United in Harry Maguire pursuit

Harry Maguire has been linked with a move away from Manchester United in recent months, with AC Milan joining the race to sign him.

Harry Maguire has fallen down in the pecking order at Old Trafford, and he needs to leave Manchester United in order to get his career back on track. Serie A giants AC Milan have now joined West Ham United in the pursuit of the England international as per talkSPORT.

The player has been linked with AS Roma as well. Maguire will be hoping to play regularly, and it remains to be seen whether AC Milan and West Ham United are prepared to offer him gametime assurances.

The Serie A outfit could certainly use more depth in the defensive unit, and Maguire could prove to be a useful acquisition for him. The 30-year-old has the quality and the experience to thrive in Italian football. In addiiton, the conservative nature of play in Italy could suit him.

The 30-year-old is at the peak of his powers right now and will be determined to prove himself at the highest level. Although the move to Manchester United has not worked out as planned, Maguire has previously shown his quality in English football, and he is certainly good enough to play for a club like AC Milan.

Meanwhile, West Ham United are hoping to add more quality to the defensive unit as well. Kurt Zouma has been linked with a move away from the London club. So, West Ham will have to bring in a quality replacement if the Frenchman ends up leaving the club in the coming months.

Maguire could prove to be a quality acquisition for the London club, and it remains to be seen whether the Manchester United defender prioritises staying in the Premier League. Nonetheless, the Hammers are plotting a January move for the Manchester United outcast.

He will hope to cement his place in the national team setup ahead of the European Championships next summer and needs to join a club where he will play regularly. If AC Milan can promise him regular football, a move to Italy could be a more appealing option for him. They are one of the biggest clubs in the world and should be able to offer him European football consistently. In addition, they could challenge for major trophies as well.
