The Merseyside club are preparing for life without Mohamed Salah, and Klopp is looking to ensure he has enough depth and quality to cope with the absence of the Egyptian international if and when he leaves the club.

Salah was subject to a lot of interest from Saudi Arabia during the summer. And, they are expected to return for him in 2024. As a result, Liverpool are looking to be well-prepared for a situation where the 31-year-old leaves the club.

They already have high-quality young attackers in their ranks and adding Diao to the mix will help them cope with the absence of Salah. Klopp prefers having pacey players out wide. He wants to have wingers who have speed, who can complete take-ons and can even contribute towards goals. And, the young Real Betis winger seems to be a perfect fit for the club.

Diao has a contract with the club that runs until the summer of 2027. But, there is a release clause in his contract, and the Merseyside club are ready to trigger it and pay €30 million to land him at the club. While Real Betis will try their best to keep him at the club, Liverpool are expected to go all out to secure his services next summer.
