Arsenal and Chelsea are ready to pull the trigger in the race to sign 23-year-old Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, a target for Real Madrid.
According to a report by Italian outlet Il Bianconero, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Real Madrid are keen on signing Dusan Vlahovic. The 23-year-old might leave Juventus in a transfer window in 2024. And the two Premier League heavyweights are willing to launch the offensive to secure his services.
Dusan Vlahovic has endured a rollercoaster ride since joining Juventus from Fiorentina in January 2022. The Serbian international was one of the best young prospects in Serie A during his stint with La Viola. But he has not reached the heights he scaled in 2021 at his former club.
The 23-year-old went through a horrific 2022/23 season with Juventus, scoring only 14 goals in all competitions. But Vlahovic has started the 2023/24 campaign strongly, scoring four times and providing one assist in four outings. Meanwhile, the player’s progress this season has captured the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid.
Real Madrid had the opportunity to sign the Serb in the summer transfer window but chose not to take up the offer. However, the Merengues are considering the former Fiorentina striker as one of the alternatives to Kylian Mbappe. While the Frenchman is Real Madrid’s top target, there are concerns that he might sign a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
As for Arsenal, Mikel Arteta currently has two strikers in his squad. But he does not view Eddie Nketiah as the long-term first-choice striker. Meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus has never been a prolific scorer in his career. So, considering a 2024 move for a striker is sensible on Arsenal’s part.
Meanwhile, Chelsea, like Real Madrid, turned down the opportunity to secure Vlahovic’s services this past summer. But with Nicolas Jackson struggling to perform consistently, the Blues need a top-class striker. Vlahovic is thus a viable target for Chelsea. And the Blues and Arsenal are ready to make their moves for the 23-year-old.
