Manchester United might agree to loan out Jadon Sancho in January

Manchester United could sanction a January loan exit for Jadon Sancho.

According to Football Insider, Premier League giants Manchester United could be open to letting Jadon Sancho leave Old Trafford on loan in the upcoming January transfer window.

The Englishman generated much hype when he moved to the Theatre of Dreams from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021. However, he has been a pale shadow of his former self and has managed to contribute to just 12 goals and six assists in 82 games across all competitions.

Sancho has struggled to make a mark at the club and is far from a regular under Erik ten Hag. His omission from the matchday squad that travelled to The Emirates earlier this season opened a can of worms that could threaten to undo Manchester United’s season.

More so, the player’s reluctance to apologise to ten Hag for the public outburst is not doing him any favours. His £250,000-a-week deal also complicates matters. Manchester United have since made Sancho train away from the first team, as disciplinary resolution is well underway.

As things stand, Sancho has played just 76 minutes for the club this season and will need to do a lot better if he is to add to that tally. It appears to be a long way back for the Englishman, and one could argue that some time away from Old Trafford might do him much help.

While the Red Devils are unwilling to sanction a permanent exit on the cheap, they might be more amenable to a loan deal. Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund are both keen on such an arrangement and could make their move once the winter window opens on new years day.

Premier League side Aston Villa are also keen on the player, and landing him could be a coup for Unai Emery and Co. Given his age and potential, Sancho should have no shortage of suitors, and it is all a matter of Manchester United finding the best deal for their benefit.

It will not come as a shock if Sancho fails to make another appearance for the Red Devils. Whether all bridges have been burnt with no chance of redemption remains to be seen as the £250,000-a-week spends time on the sidelines.
