Crystal Palace recently sounded out a move for Barcelona prospect Ez Abde, who reportedly has an agreement with La Liga club Real Betis.
According to a report by French outlet Foot Mercato, Ez Abde is the subject of interest from Crystal Palace. And the South London club recently probed Barcelona to discuss the 21-year-old. But the youngster is keen on moving across La Liga to Real Betis, with whom he already has an agreement over a summer move.
Ez Abde needs to make an important decision on his career in the ongoing transfer window. The Moroccan international is not an undisputed starter for Barcelona, with the status unlikely to come his way anytime soon. But Xavi Hernandez and the decision-makers at the club rate him highly.
The 21-year-old has come off the bench in both La Liga games thus far this term, managing 67 minutes of game time. And with Lamine Yamal also going ahead of Abde in the pecking order, a move away from Barcelona might serve him well. Meanwhile, the situation has captured the attention of several clubs.
Recent reports have linked the former Hercules CF forward with Aston Villa and Bayer Leverkusen. Serie A clubs have also shown interest in the Barcelona prospect. Meanwhile, the report claims that he has an agreement with La Liga club Real Betis over a possible move this summer. But Crystal Palace want to secure his services.
The Eagles have not lost Michael Olise amid the Frenchman’s links with Chelsea. And while Olise has signed a new contract with Crystal Palace, they will be aware that the vultures have their prey in sight. And with Jordan Ayew and Jeffrey Schlupp on the wrong side, it behoves Palace to scour the market for promising young attackers.
Abdul Fatawu Issahaku is thus one of several wingers on Crystal Palace’s radar. And Ez Abde has now emerged as a viable target for the South London club. But with the Barcelona prospect keen on joining Real Betis, the Eagles have an uphill task to land his signature.
Meanwhile, Barcelona might not entertain any offers for Abde amid uncertainties surrounding Ansu Fati’s future. So it will be interesting to see if Crystal Palace or Real Betis can convince the reigning La Liga champions to part ways with the 21-year-old.
