West Ham United have received a major boost in their pursuit of Mohammed Kudus as the player is keen on joining the Premier League club.
According to a report by Football Insider, West Ham United are looking to sign Mohammed Kudus in the ongoing transfer window and the Ajax utility man is eager to join the Hammers. He wants to play in the Premier League and is ready to make a move to England.
Kudus joined Ajax back in the summer of 2020 from Danish side Nordsjaelland. He has since gone from strength to strength and has made quite a name for himself.
The 23-year-old attacking midfielder has featured in a total of 85 matches for Ajax’s first team and has contributed towards 35 goals. While he is naturally an attacking midfielder, Kudus is capable enough to feature as a striker as well as a right winger.
He featured in more attacking roles in the majority of his matches last season. Out of his 42 appearances, 33 were as a right winger or a striker. As a result, he ended up contributing towards 25 goals. The Ghana international found the back of the net on 18 occasions and he even contributed with seven assists.
His versatility and exceptional form over the past 12 months have resulted in a lot of interest throughout the transfer window. The Ajax sensation was closing in on a move to Brighton earlier in the window. The Seagulls were ready to pay around £35 million for his services. But, the deal collapsed as the player wanted a release clause in his contract.
At this point in time, West Ham are the ones interested in the 23-year-old utility man. The Hammers have already added James Ward-Prowse and Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez to their squad this summer. And, are looking to further bolster their squad by signing Kudus.
The Hammers have stepped up their interest in recent days and the report suggests that the player is keen on making the move to the English club. He is eager to join West Ham, as a result, there is a real possibility of a deal in the coming days.
