West Ham United open talks for Ajax Amsterdam star Mohammed Kudus
According to Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Premier League side West Ham United are currently in talks to land Ajax Amsterdam star Mohammed Kudus in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The versatile star is seen as the top target should Lucas Paqueta leave the Hammers for Manchester City. The Brazilian could become the second high-profile exit from the London Stadium this summer following Declan Rice’s transfer to Arsenal.
Both players played a key role in the club’s UEFA Conference League win last season and it would appear Ajax are now supplying West Ham with their replacements. This after the Hammers already signed Mexican star Edson Alvarez earlier this summer.

Kudus is a high-profile target and has attracted attention from Chelsea, Manchester United and Brighton & Hove Albion. At 23, the versatile attacker is yet to enter the prime of his career and could develop into one of the best goal-getters in world football.
An all-action player, Kudus is not just a brilliant dribbler but is often clinical when through on goal. He also possesses an excellent passing range and can pose a major threat from set-pieces as well. He does not shrink in the defensive side either with his top-notch tackling a major highlight.
One could argue that West Ham landing such a player would be a steal. The Hammers will be well advised to make their move before other clubs join the fray.
The player, for his part, is open to a move to West Ham and a deal could gather pace if Paqueta ends up at The Etihad. The Hammers are yet to approach Ajax and could expedite it in the coming days should the situation prove conductive.
Beating the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea to the Ghanaian international is nothing short of a coup for West Ham. Should it happen, the fans will have every reason to be excited for yet another season with European football also on the cards. Kudus can be a game-changer for the Hammers and it remains to be seen if he will make the switch to London this summer.
