Kylian Mbappe would be open to Liverpool move

Kylian Mbappe has an affection towards Liverpool, making a year-long loan deal possible in the coming period.

Football Insider reckons Kylian Mbappe would be open to joining Liverpool on a season-long loan deal this summer. The 24-year-old World Cup star intends on joining Real Madrid next summer on a free transfer, but PSG is open to letting him leave in this window.

The Kylian Mbappe saga rumbles on, with new twists being reported on a daily basis. Numerous unfounded rumors have been generated as media stories linking the 24-year-old World Cup star to several clubs, including Tottenham in the Premier League.

A few days ago, a report linked Liverpool with a loan move for the striker. The story suggested the Merseysiders could not afford a permanent transfer at this stage, but the doors could open next season when his contract expires.

Yet, Liverpool were reportedly open to paying his wages for one year and evaluating the situation next summer. Those numbers could go up to €50 million as per his PSG contract. Now, Football Insider reckons they might take help from sponsors to pay the difference in his salary.

They insist the affection Mbappe and his mother have for the Merseyside club could prove crucial, although it may not be realistic. He would certainly improve Liverpool, but Jurgen Klopp may want him for more than just a single season.

In any case, PSG are open to selling Mbappe, preferably in this window. They had accepted a mammoth €300 million bid from the Saudi side Al Hilal. Instead, the 24-year-old World Cup star refused to entertain talks with the delegates from the middle eastern club and decided to stay in Paris.

PSG feels Mbappe has a ‘secret’ agreement with Real Madrid, and he will join them next summer on a free transfer. Moreover, the 24-year-old will also get his loyalty bonus from the Parisians after he remains at the club beyond August 31.

PSG might consider an idea like the loan move to Liverpool, while Chelsea were also keen on the striker. By sending him for the year, they will save on his mammoth salary, which could prove the only financial benefit in this whole saga for PSG.

However, loan or not, Liverpool are not in a position to compete for the French forward, as he is beyond their financial means. In any case, Klopp would ideally want him for the longer term and not just for a single season.
