Tottenham keen on signing Mehdi Taremi

Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing FC Porto striker Mehdi Taremi, whose price tag this summer is €30 million.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Mehdi Taremi will cost €30 million this summer. But Tottenham are prepared to offer €24 million for the FC Porto striker in the ongoing transfer window. The difference in valuation between the two clubs seems nominal, and it is fair to assume that an agreement could be reached soon.

It is not surprising that Tottenham are looking to bring in a quality attacker this summer. They were heavily dependent on Harry Kane for goals last season and the England international is now being linked with a move away from the club.

Players like Richarlison and Son Heung-min were far from their best last year. So Spurs must invest in a reliable goalscorer. Taremi has proven himself to be a reliable finisher over the years at Porto, and he could certainly be an important player for Tottenham next season.

If the North London giants can sign him for a fee below €30 million, the move could prove to be a smart one. The Iranian international scored 31 goals across all competitions last season, and he will look to hit the ground running in the Premier League. He has previously done well in the Champions League, and there is no doubt that he is good enough for the Premier League as well.

Tottenham have done well to improve their squad this summer, and they will be hoping to bounce back strongly next season. They had a disappointing 2022/23 campaign and missed out on Champions League qualification.

The North London outfit will want to secure Champions League qualification once again, and they have shown intent in the transfer market so far. Tottenham have pulled off the signings of Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison so far. They are expected to sign Micky van de Ven from Wolfsburg as well.

If Tottenham can bring in a quality central midfielder and a striker before the window closes, it will have been a hugely successful window for them. Meanwhile, Spurs have recently appointed Ange Postecoglou as the club’s new manager, and the Australian has a reputation for getting the best out of his players.

It will be interesting to see if he can get his new signings firing on all cylinders. Taremi is at the peak of his powers right now, and he will look to establish himself as one of the best attackers in the Premier League if the move goes through.
