Axel Disasi has officially completed his move to Chelsea, with the Blues reportedly paying €45 million to sign the 25-year-old.
Axel Disasi is officially a Chelsea player. The Blues have made an official statement to confirm that they have secured the services of the 25-year-old defender. And the World Cup finalist, who has arrived from AS Monaco, has signed a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge. Meanwhile, the Blues have shelled out €45 million to secure his services.
Disasi expressed his delight at completing the move to Chelsea, saying, “It’s something I’ve been waiting for. I am so happy to be here, at this big club. I am really proud to be able to be a part of this great family, and I hope to achieve very big things here. To win titles. I will do everything I can to achieve those objectives. I am very ambitious.”
“I can’t wait to feel the energy of the fans. This is a very good stadium, one where you have a beautiful proximity to the fans. A typical English stadium, I think. The fervour of the fans in the Premier League, the atmosphere, the intensity of the games: it is something that excites me.”
Axel Disasi passed through the academies at Villiers-le-Bel JS, USM Senlis, and Paris FC in his formative years before graduating from the Paris FC youth division. But he rose to prominence during his half-decade stay at Stade Reims before seeing stock soar further in his stint with AS Monaco.

The 25-year-old spent three years at AS Monaco, turning out 129 times while chipping in with 12 goals and four assists. Disasi also made his debut for France last year before being a part of Les Bleus’ run to the 2022 FIFA World Cup final. And the player’s progress in the past year attracted several clubs.
Manchester United and Newcastle United keenly pursued the French international. But neither club launched the offensive to secure his services. That gave his other suitors the opportunity to pounce. And Chelsea quickly agreed to a deal with AS Monaco for the World Cup finalist.
Fabrizio Romano has provided more context to the agreement, revealing Chelsea will pay €45 million to secure his services. Meanwhile, Disasi has signed a six-year contract with the West London club. And with Wesley Fofana out for the foreseeable future, Disasi can hit the ground running at Stamford Bridge. It will be interesting to see if he becomes a long-term solution for Chelsea.
