According to a report from Defensa Central, Real Madrid and Tottenham have been offered the chance to sign Beto. But the 25-year-old striker’s representatives are yet to hear back from the two clubs. The Udinese attacker will cost around €30 million in the summer transfer window.
Real Madrid have apparently turned down the opportunity to sign the player because they have signed Joselu already. Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to make a move for the Portuguese striker in the coming weeks.
It is no secret that Tottenham need to add more attacking quality to their side. They have been overly dependent on Harry Kane for goals, and the England international clearly needs more help and support from his teammates.
A move to Tottenham would be a major step up in the 25-year-old’s career, and he is likely to be tempted to move to the Premier League. Although Tottenham have failed to secure UEFA Champions League qualification, they will be an attractive destination for players like Beto.
The Portuguese striker was a key player for Udinese this past season, scoring ten goals across all competitions. He could share the goalscoring burden alongside Kane at the north London club. The striker is reportedly valued at €30 million, and Tottenham certainly have the finances to pull off the move.
As for Real Madrid, they need to bring in a quality striker before the summer transfer window closes. Karim Benzema has completed a move to Saudi Arabia and will have to be replaced adequately. The French striker was one of the best players of his generation, and replacing him will not be easy for Real Madrid. Joselu alone will not be enough to fill the void left by Benzema.
