AC Milan hoping to sign Reiss Nelson from Arsenal

AC Milan are hoping that they can acquire the services of 23-year-old Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson ahead of next season.

According to Calciomercato, AC Milan are still keen on acquiring the services of Reiss Nelson. The Serie A giants have been interested in the 23-year-old winger for a while now. And, they are still pushing for his services despite him agreeing to a new deal with the Gunners.

Nelson might not have got the deserved minutes in the 2022/23 season, but he did manage to impress one and all. The 23-year-old made a total of 11 Premier League appearances and was on the pitch for just 202 minutes. Despite managing a limited amount of game time, the Arsenal graduate had five goal contributions.

The England Under-21 star’s contract runs out at the end of the month. However, his performances have ensured that the Gunners do everything possible to give him a well-deserved new deal.

Nelson has managed to impress Mikel Arteta who is likely to land him a bigger role next season and is desperate to have him at the club. The Gunners have been in talks with the 23-year-old over a new deal for a while.

And, the two parties have reached an agreement to extend his stay at the club. However, Nelson is yet to put pen to paper and he is taking his time before making the final call. He has the option of leaving as a free agent and joining another club where he could be a regular starter.

Meanwhile, AC Milan, who have been interested in the 23-year-old for a while now, have put forward an offer to Nelson. They are desperate to have him in their ranks. And, they are hoping that despite him agreeing to a new deal, the English winger might end up choosing them in search of a bigger role.

Milan are looking to replace Brahim Diaz who has left for Real Madrid. They are keen on signing someone who will add pace as well as goals to the mix and given his recent heroics in the Premier League, Nelson seems to be the perfect fit. While they do have Samuel Chukwueze as an alternate option, they are pushing as hard as they possibly can to lure Nelson away from Arsenal.
