According to a report by French outlet L’Equipe, Real Madrid will have no qualms about breaking the bank to sign Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer transfer window. The Merengues are ready to offer €200 million to secure the Frenchman’s services. Meanwhile, he is also a target for Liverpool.
Kylian Mbappe has been one of the best players in the world since his breakthrough 2016/17 campaign. And after a phenomenal season with AS Monaco, he joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2017. The French club initially signed the 24-year-old on loan before completing a permanent deal a year later.
But Mbappe’s stint with PSG has not been a smooth ride, even though he has been prolific in the final third. The Frenchman was excellent in the 2022/23 season, amassing 41 goals and ten assists in 43 appearances. But the player will not sign a new contract with PSG, who will likely cash in on him this summer. And such a situation has captured the attention of Real Madrid and Liverpool.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has been on Real Madrid’s radar for a long time. And despite facing rejection from the player last summer, the Merengues remain interested in him. Recent reports have pointed to Real Madrid being the front-runners to sign the 24-year-old. And following Karim Benzema’s departure, his compatriot is the ideal option to replace him.

It has now emerged that Real Madrid will happily break the bank to secure Mbappe’s services. And they are ready to shell out €200 million to sign the French international from PSG this summer. In addition, Les Parisiens will unlikely block the move, as they did two years ago. But Real Madrid will face stiff competition from Liverpool, according to MARCA.
Mbappe’s name has been high on Liverpool’s shortlist for a long time. But the Reds are in no position to afford to pay anything close to €200 million to sign the Frenchman. Nonetheless, he is a viable target for the Merseyside club.
But the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has reportedly told Real Madrid that he wants to join them. However, Mbappe recently insisted on Twitter that he intends to honour his PSG contract. That said, it behoves PSG to cash in on him in the summer transfer window. And it will be interesting to see if Liverpool can beat Real Madrid to his signature.
