Chelsea are thinking about offering two players to Inter Milan as they look to sign their shot-stopper Andre Onana.
According to The Sun, Chelsea are keen on having Andre Onana in their ranks ahead of next season. The Blues are desperate to acquire a new shot-stooper ahead of next season and have their eyes set on the 27-year-old Inter Milan star who has been doing wonders of late.
Onana was amongst the best young goalkeepers out there a few years back. But, his career went off track when he was suspended due to doping. The 27-year-old has quite a comeback with impressive performances for the Italian outfit after joining them ahead of the 2022/23 season.
His performances have attracted a lot of attention, and Chelsea are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks. The Blues have been monitoring the Inter shot-stopper for a while now. While Onana’s contract with Inter runs until the summer of 2027, the former Ajax goalkeeper can still be on the move, given the amount of interest in him as well as Inter Milan’s financial situation.
Meanwhile, Inter Milan will well aware of the amount of interest in his services and they have already identified a potential replacement. Simone Inzaghi is a big fan of Empoli shot-stopper Guglielmo Vicario, and they are plotting a move to land him at the Serie A club.
Inzaghi’s efforts to sign a replacement is a great sign for Chelsea, who are desperate to have Onana in their ranks. The 27-year-old goalkeeper is highly regarded by their new manager Mauricio Pochettino and he is keen on having him in their ranks.
The former Tottenham boss does not trust Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy. The duo has been inconsistent, and Pochettino wants to have a trusted player in goal. After having an initial bid rejected, the Blues are ready to offer two players in return for the services of the 27-year-old. Romelu Lukaku who is currently on loan at Inter has a desire to stay at the club.

As a result, they are willing to offer Lukaku and in addition, they are ready to sacrifice Kalidou Koulibaly who is surplus to requirements and hasn’t had much impact since arriving at the club. While Inter have been constantly demanding a fee of £55 million for Onana, it will be interesting to see if they accept a deal involving two players who surely bolster their squad in such financially tough times.
