Chelsea and Manchester United have established contact to pursue a deal for Gleison Bremer, who could leave Juventus in the summer.
According to Calciomercato, Gleison Bremer is attracting plenty of interest from Premier League clubs. Chelsea and Manchester United have already established contacts to sign the 26-year-old Brazilian international, who could leave Juventus.
It has not been a good season for Juventus, owing to many complications on and off the field. In total, the Bianconeri were deducted 10 points from their tally, which cost them a place in the top four whilst also being knocked out by Sevilla from the Europa League.
Their seventh-placed finish was only good enough to play the UEFA Europa Conference League football next season. That and their ongoing problems could lead to many key players departing the club, including 26-year-old Brazilian international Gleison Bremer.
The centre-back personally had a good season under his belt but will have ambitions to keep featuring in the Champions League. With uncertainty surrounding Juventus, he might seek a stable career elsewhere at the top level.
There’s interest from Premier League sides Chelsea and Manchester United, who have already established contact with the view to sign him. The 26-year-old Brazilian international will not come cheap, as Juventus would consider making a decent profit over their €50 million plus investment in the forward last summer.
Chelsea are keen to add a formidable player to the left side of their defence. Before Bremer, they had set sights on Josko Gvardiol. But without Champions League football, it may seem impossible to sign the RB Leipzig forward.
They are currently stacked in that area and will also have Brighton target Levi Cowill returning after his loan spell. Hence, a sale in that zone may feel necessary if they wish to sign Bremer. They are reportedly looking to offload Marc Cucurella but may struggle to find suitors for the price Chelsea might demand.
There was reported interest from Newcastle United previously, but there has been nothing concrete since. Now, Manchester United are also in the race as Erik ten Hag looks for a good option for his backline. Bremer would dramatically improve their defence, but is he their primary target?
Manchester United are seriously linked with a move for Kim Min-jae, who may appear as their primary objective. Bremer could become a contingent option if they cannot bring the South Korean. Even without Chelsea or the Red Devils, the 26-year-old Brazilian international could still attract interest from Champions League sides, maybe outside England.
Clubs might see the wisdom in investing in the 26-year-old Brazilian international but may seek negotiations to bring the price down. However, much will depend on Juventus and their willingness to accept any offers. If they do sell, then finding a replacement will become a difficult prospect for the Serie A side.
