Real Madrid interested in Nicolas Jackson

Villarreal striker Nicolas Jackson has reportedly emerged as a target for Real Madrid heading into the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Spanish outlet MARCA, Nicolas Jackson is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The Merengues are in the market for a striker heading into the summer transfer window. And the Villarreal attacker has emerged as a viable target for the Spanish club.

Nicolas Jackson spent his formative years in his homeland before arriving in Spain nearly four years ago. Then an 18-year-old, the Senegalese international made swift progress at Villarreal but cut his teeth at CD Mirandes. But after making a few appearances for the first team last season, he has enjoyed a breakthrough 2022/23 campaign.

The 21-year-old has not been prolific but has still managed to chip in with crucial strikes. Jackson has contributed to 17 goals this season, finding the back of the net 12 times while providing five assists. And Jackson’s progress has not gone unnoticed either, with several clubs, including Real Madrid, setting their sights on him.

Real Madrid will scour the market for a striker heading into the summer transfer window. The primary objective has been to seek a replacement for Mariano Diaz, who might depart in the coming weeks. And with the 29-year-old keen on resurrecting his career, a summer departure is likely.

So Real Madrid must find a viable replacement for Mariano, with Joselu emerging as a target. And recent reports have claimed that a loan deal is on the cards heading into the summer transfer window. But Nicolas Jackson has also emerged as a candidate to bolster the Real Madrid squad.

Meanwhile, Karim Benzema faces an uncertain future at the Santiago Bernabeu. And the latest reports suggest that the Real Madrid captain will leave the Spanish club in the summer transfer window. But replacing Benzema with Nicolas Jackson does not seem to be the ideal solution for Real Madrid.

Considering the Merengues have been dependent on goals from Benzema and Vinicius Junior, they should seek a world-class replacement for the former. But it will be interesting to see if Jackson becomes a top target to bolster the Real Madrid squad this summer.
