Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly urged Real Madrid to pursue versatile Tottenham attacker Richarlison in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Richarlison is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. But Los Blancos will prefer to sign Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe instead of the Tottenham attacker. However, Carlo Ancelotti is pushing the Spanish club to sign the Brazillian international.
Richarlison has been a polarising figure since arriving in the Premier League half a dozen years ago. The 26-year-old’s first spell in England was with Watford, for whom he was a talisman. And he joined Everton a year later before enjoying a four-year stint at Goodison Park. Last summer, he moved to Tottenham in a deal worth around €55 million.
But Richarlison’s stint with Tottenham has not been memorable, with goals coming at a premium. And the Brazilian international has managed only three goals and four assists in 33 appearances thus far. But despite the player’s struggles, he remains a target for several high-profile clubs, including Real Madrid.
Carlo Ancelotti has driven Real Madrid’s interest in the versatile Tottenham attacker. The Italian tactician brought the best out of the struggling striker during their time together at Everton. And despite Richarlison’s inconsistencies this season, Ancelotti remains an admirer of his qualities.
The report claims that Ancelotti is pushing Real Madrid to sign the 26-year-old in the summer transfer window. And with Richarlison’s market value at around €55 million, a deal in the region of the same valuation might be on the cards. But Real Madrid will prefer to sign Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe instead of the Tottenham ace.
Recent reports have claimed that the Merengues are prioritising a 2024 move for Mbappe. And with Endrick also arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu next year, there might not be any place for Richarlison. But Ancelotti wants Real Madrid to secure Richarlison’s services this summer.

It is unclear if Los Blancos will heed Ancelotti’s requests and reunite him with Richarlison at the Bernabeu next season. But a summer move for the versatile Tottenham attacker seems unlikely, as things stand.
