Barcelona agree bumper new deal with Alejandro Balde

Barcelona and Alejandro Balde have reportedly finalised the agreement over a new long-term contract that will run until June 30, 2027.

According to a report by Spanish outlet SPORT, Alejandro Balde will sign a new long-term contract with Barcelona soon. The two parties have agreed to a deal running until June 30, 2027. And the deal also contains a release clause worth a whopping €1 billion. But Barcelona cannot register the agreement until La Liga approves the feasibility plan they have submitted.

Alejandro Balde is one of several youngsters who have given Barcelona a silver lining amid the never-ending financial woes. Gavi and Pedri have galvanised the midfield unit, while Balde has emerged as an in-house answer to Barcelona’s search for Jordi Alba’s successor. And he has become a regular for the Blaugrana in the ongoing season.

The 19-year-old has also made his debut for the Spanish national side and went to the 2022 FIFA World Cup with La Roja. Meanwhile, he has turned out 41 times thus far this season, chipping in with one goal and seven assists. Meanwhile, the youngster’s market value has risen to €30 million in the last few months.

But Balde’s contract runs out in a little over a year, leaving Barcelona in a spot of bother. And the Catalan giants have been desperate to officiate the signing of a new deal for several weeks. News of an agreement first broke in January. But with Barcelona yet to comply with Financial Fair Play, they have not been able to register the renewal.

Meanwhile, the situation has captured the attention of several high-profile clubs in Europe. And recent reports have linked the 19-year-old Spanish international with Chelsea and Manchester United. But Barcelona will soon officiate Balde’s renewal as soon as they comply with Financial Fair Play norms.

The deal will last until June 30, 2027, while including a release clause worth €1 billion. Meanwhile, the Catalan giants have submitted a feasibility plan to La Liga. That will help Barcelona register the new contracts they have agreed with several players. In addition, they can move ahead with their transfer plans.
