Real Madrid will reportedly plan to use the “Tchouameni tactic” to beat Liverpool to the signature of Jude Bellingham.
According to a report by Spanish outlet MARCA, Real Madrid will use the strategy they employed to sign Aurelien Tchouameni last year to secure the services of Jude Bellingham in the summer transfer window. The Borussia Dortmund midfielder is also a target for Premier League giants Liverpool.
Jude Bellingham has been the talk of the town since breaking into the Birmingham City FC first team a few years ago. The 19-year-old broke several records at St. Andrews, with Birmingham retiring his jersey after he left. But his stock has skyrocketed since joining Borussia Dortmund in July 2020.
The English international has become a pivotal figure for his club and country in the last three years. And the teenage sensation has enjoyed a solid 2022/23 season, directly contributing to 18 goals thus far. Bellingham’s progress has not gone unnoticed either, with Liverpool and Real Madrid among his prospective suitors.
For Liverpool, securing Bellingham’s services will not be straightforward. That is because the Reds plan to part ways with several midfielders in the summer transfer window. Liverpool will thus have to dip into the market for multiple midfield signings. So they cannot afford to shell out a nine-figure sum on one player. Nonetheless, they remain keen on signing the teenage wonderkid.
In addition, recent reports have claimed that Bellingham wants to join Liverpool this summer. He has even informed Borussia Dortmund that he wishes to move to Liverpool when he departs from Signal Iduna Park. But Real Madrid will hope to beat the Merseyside club to Bellingham’s signature.
Recent reports have suggested that Real Madrid might even offer a part-exchange deal to sign the 19-year-old. And the Merengues now plan to use the “Tchouameni tactic” to secure Bellingham’s services. MARCA claims that, as was the case with Tchouameni, Real Madrid will likely send a delegation to discuss a deal with the Englishman. That helped them secure the Frenchman’s approval.
Interestingly, Liverpool had been keen on signing Tchouameni last summer before Real Madrid snared him away. And it will be interesting to see if a similar strategy helps Los Blancos snap up Bellingham this year.
