Liverpool and Tottenham are ahead in the race for Antonio Silva as they angle a summer move for the €100 million-rated defender.
According to Give Me Sport, Antonio Silva remains a massive target for Premier League sides in the summer. Liverpool and Tottenham lead the chase for the €100 million-rated defender from Benfica, who has been a rock at the back for the Portuguese side.
Antonio Silva continues to garner the attention of top Premier League sides ahead of the summer window. Many clubs are keeping close tabs on the defender and are not currently deterred by his €100 million release clause. Benfica are on top of their league, with the centre-back playing a huge role during the season.
Liverpool and Manchester United have expressed their interest in signing the defender. The Merseysiders are particularly open to adding one or two central defenders in this window, as they remain linked with some prominent names.
Antonio Silva would be of keen interest as his talents will help them make long-term plans. The 19-year-old Portuguese prodigy has shown maturity beyond his years, and the Reds could look to raid Benfica for the €100 million-rated star.
Benfica have shown the courage to hold on to their demands and could ask clubs to pay Silva’s €100 million release clause. Liverpool will hope the issue is not similar to Chelsea’s January deal for Enzo Fernandez and will hope Benfica will agree to less than the clause.
The summer window usually allows clubs to negotiate properly; hence, the chances of signing Silva for a reduced fee are high. Recent reports suggested Liverpool could pay €50 million and get the defender, which may be true.
Meanwhile, there is also interest from Tottenham, who are open to adding new central defenders to their ranks. They have names like Marc Guehi on their shortlist, alongside other high-profile targets. Spurs have recently sacked Antonio Conte as their manager. But new signings will not depend on their managerial appointments.
They have already missed out on targets like Milan Skriniar and may not attract other names due to their questionable race to finish in the top four. Hence, signing young prospective defenders like the €100 million-rated Portuguese prodigy would hel their cause.

Tottenham will also hope to make an offer well below the current valuation of the player. They hope the promise of regular game time will lure Silva to north London ahead of Liverpool or any other Premier League rival.
