Chelsea reportedly plan to compete with Liverpool for 15-year-old attacking sensation Mason Melia in the summer.
According to Football Insider, Chelsea have made several offers for Mason Melia. The 15-year-old attacking sensation remains high on the priority list for Liverpool, who like the St. Patrick’s Athletic star. Blues supremo Todd Boehly wants to bring in the best young attacking talents, with the Irishman recently entering their shortlist.
Chelsea have made multiple signings since Todd Boehly’s arrival, and his consortium took over the club. Since last summer, the Blues have spent over £500 million on young and experienced talents. But their project is still far from kickstarting.
Chelsea have shown relentlessness in the market while pursuing some young talents. While most of their purchases have been players on the periphery of first-team football, they now want prospects that could develop at the Cobham academy and with the youth sides.
They have already made extensive moves in the South American market, with a few players lined up to make a move. Kendry Paez remains close to agreeing on a move to Chelsea but will arrive once he turns 18. They signed Omari Hutchinson and Carney Chukwuemeka last summer, with many more set to arrive.

In January, they signed Andrey Santos from Brazil but had to loan him back to Vasco Da Gama due to work permit issues. Meanwhile, they are now looking into the UK and Irish markets for new talent, with some already in the pipeline.
They remain keen on Arsenal’s 15-year-old star Ethan Nwaneri and want Mason Melia of Irish side St. Patrick’s Athletic. The 15-year-old attacking sensation became their youngest senior debutant and goalscorer, as they rate him rather highly. And Chelsea are ready to hijack moves by other clubs for the youngster.
Melia also has interest from Liverpool, with the Merseysides keen to tie up a deal for the 15-year-old attacking sensation. The player will certainly remain thrilled at the prospect of joining one of the big clubs from England, with competition intense for the prodigy.
Chelsea have reportedly made several offers for Melia and could look for a quick resolution in the chase. Liverpool will put up a fight, but the Boues have proved their mettle to secure the best deals in the market, and that might be the case with the Irish talent.
