Brighton & Hove Albion will not sell Alexis Mac Allister for less than €75 million amid interest from Manchester City.
According to Fichajes, Manchester City will have to pay €75 million to acquire the services of Alexis Mac Allister. Pep Guardiola’s team are keen on adding a new midfielder into the mix. They have been impressed by the Brighton midfielder and are willing to break the bank for him.
The 24-year-old has been quite impressive over the past year. And, his performances have caught the eye of quite a few big clubs from across Europe. Meanwhile, Mac Allister had an impressive FIFA World Cup 2022. He was one of the stars of the tournament for Argentina.
The 24-year-old played an important part in helping La Albiceleste lift the ultimate prize in world football. The Brighton midfielder featured in all seven games for Argentina at the mega-event. His performances resulted in a lot of attention from across the globe. And, it seems that he is all set to make a big move ahead of next season.
The 24-year-old joined Brighton in the winter of 2019 from Argentinos Juniors. He was sent out on loan to get match time and prepare himself for the Premier League in the initial days. The Argentina international managed to break into the first team of Brighton after two loan spells at Argentine clubs.
He has become an important part of the Brighton setup over the last few seasons. The 24-year-old has featured in 93 matches for the Seagulls. He has 21 goal contributions to his name during his time at the club. The Argentine midfielder has seven goals in his 21 appearances for Brighton in the ongoing season.
His contract with Brighton ends in the summer of 2025. But, the club have the option to extend it by 12 months. However, it looks like the player is likely to move to a Champions League club in a few months. With more than two years left in his contract, Brighton have full control over negotiations and will only sell if their asking price is met.
