La Liga champions Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing 22-year-old Georgian attacker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Serie A club Napoli.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. Carlo Ancelotti is keen on bringing the 22-year-old attacking sensation to the Santiago Bernabeu from Serie A club Napoli in the summer transfer window.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia had gone somewhat under the radar in the early days of his professional career. But he has been a rare Georgian success story in Europe, especially since joining Napoli last summer. The youngster took no time to establish himself as a pivotal figure for the Serie A giants. And he is now one of the best attackers in the Italian top flight.
The 22-year-old has led Napoli’s Serie A title charge, combining effortlessly with Victor Osimhen. And Kvaratskhelia has also made his mark in the UEFA Champions League. All that has combined into a tally of 11 goals and 14 assists in 23 appearances across all competitions. And the player’s progress has captured the attention of Real Madrid.
Widespread reports have painted a contrasting picture of Real Madrid’s interest in Kvaratskhelia. While some have suggested that the Merengues are keen on signing him, others have claimed that they have cooled their interest. But according to Fichajes, the Georgian attacking sensation is a top target for Real Madrid.
Carlo Ancelotti, in particular, is driving Real Madrid’s interest in the 22-year-old. But considering he is primarily a left winger, it is unclear how Kvaratskhelia will fit into the scheme of things. But the youngster is capable of playing on the right flank and could compete with Rodrygo Goes for that position.
However, Real Madrid will likely need to shell out the big bucks to sign the player from Napoli. In addition, the Serie A giants might not be willing to part ways with the young attacking sensation, either. Considering Kvaratskhelia is driving their title charge, they might have big plans for him.
But it is often hard to turn down an approach from Real Madrid, arguably the biggest club in the world. And it will be interesting to see if the 22-year-old leaves Napoli if the reigning La Liga champions make an approach.
