Manchester City ready to pay over £100 million for Jude Bellingham

Manchester City have no qualms about splashing £100 million on Jude Bellingham as Pep Guardiola’s side take pole position.

According to Give Me Sport, Jude Bellingham is a serious target for Manchester City in the summer. The Premier League side are ready to pay £100 million for the Borussia Dortmund midfielder as the chase for the England international gains momentum.

Jude Bellingham could join one of the bigger sides sooner rather than later, but the destination still needs to be discovered. The Liverpool, Real Madrid target will be costly, with only a handful of clubs capable of paying up what Borussia Dortmund might ultimately demand for the 19-year-old.

To shorten the options, only Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City have the realistic capacity to pay Bellingham’s asking price. However, Liverpool, despite their public perception of financial restrictions over individual players, remains in contention for the England international.

Bellingham, it may appear, is willing to listen to offers and what his future holds. The idea must revolve around joining a team where consistency is crucial, alongside the notion of winning trophies with regularity. There are those sides mentioned above who could offer the midfielder such a route, but realistically Manchester City may appear more stable as an option.

Borussia Dortmund are open to a sale, but negotiating with the German side has proved difficult. Yet, there’s a feeling that Bellingham will eventually depart the club, probably in the summer, with Manchester City currently considered the favourites.

The Liverpool and Real Madrid target could cost a significant sum. Manchester City could fork out £100 million to bring the England international to the Premier League. Pep Guardiola has supposedly identified the midfielder as the next essential addition to his side.

Earlier, Man City remained pessimistic about spending huge sums on individual characters but shattered the idea when they signed Jack Grealish in 2021. However, they are now open to another similar splash and sign Jude Bellingham by paying £100 million for the 19-year-old.

Guardiola is aware of the space opening up in midfield, with Ilkay Gundogan likely to be phased out soon. Bellingham could sufficiently replace the German midfielder, but the 19-year-old is keen on joining Liverpool.

However, if looked at the security and stability aspect, Man City have secured the future of Guardiola until 2025, which could prove a massive factor in the race for Bellingham. While Real Madrid have stepped their interest in him, they still need to have a succession plan for Carlo Ancelotti.

Bellingham must take immense care before deciding his next move, and if no club comes forward, he might evaluate the best bidder. At this moment, Man City may appear as the top contender, and if they are to make a £100 million move, Dortmund is likely to study the offer.
