Real Madrid are reportedly considering signing French midfielder Adrien Rabiot, valued at €20 million by Juventus, in January.
According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercatoweb, Adrien Rabiot could leave Juventus in the January transfer window. The Bianconeri will demand around €20 million to part ways with the French midfielder, with Real Madrid considering signing him this coming winter.
Adrien Rabiot joined Juventus from Paris Saint-Germain in a Bosman move in July 2019. And while the 27-year-old hoped to rediscover his best level at the Allianz Stadium, he has blown hot and cold in Turin. But Massimiliano Allegri has used the player regularly in the ongoing campaign.
The French midfielder has turned out 16 times thus far for Juventus this term, chipping in with five goals and two assists. But the Serie A giants are in a spot of bother over Rabiot’s long-term future, as he has entered the final few months of his contract. Such a situation has captured the attention of Real Madrid.
Real Madrid initially considered signing Rabiot in a Bosman move next year. But the report claims that they might launch the offensive for the French midfielder in January. Amid uncertainties surrounding Dani Ceballos’s future, Real Madrid might need to bring in a midfielder this coming winter.
In addition, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos are on their last legs as professional footballers. So Carlo Ancelotti might look to have additional resources at his disposal in a busy second half of the season. The interest in Rabiot thus makes sense for Real Madrid heading into the January transfer window.
The player’s price tag might not pose a problem for Los Blancos either, with Juventus demanding around €20 million to part ways with him. But with several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, also interested in the French midfielder, Real Madrid will need to be decisive in the coming weeks.
It will be interesting to see if Juventus will manage to recoup the €20 million they desire from Rabiot’s sale. If not, the French midfielder will likely run down his contract with the Bianconeri before leaving as a free agent in the summer transfer window.
