Manchester City are interested in signing Napoli attacker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, with the player also on the radar of Real Madrid.
According to a report from 90min, Manchester City and Real Madrid are keen on signing the Georgian international winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on the back of his impressive performances with Serie A giants Napoli.
The 21-year-old winger is widely regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in European football right now. And he has been outstanding for Napoli in Serie A as well as the UEFA Champions League.
The Georgian attacker recently had a devastating impact against Liverpool in the Champions League, and he has proven that he has the quality to thrive at the highest level. It is hardly surprising that top clubs like Manchester City and Real Madrid are currently vying for his services.
Kvaratskhelia has a long-term contract with Napoli, so the Serie A outfit are unlikely to be open to a sale right now. However, both Manchester City and Real Madrid have enormous resources, and it will not be difficult for them to tempt Napoli with a lucrative offer.
It will be interesting to see whether Pep Guardiola can beat the competition from Real Madrid and Carlo Ancelotti to secure the youngster’s services. The 21-year-old is far from the finished product and will likely improve a lot more with coaching and game time.
Kvaratskhelia will add pace, unpredictability and dynamism to Manchester City’s attack. The Premier League champions had signed Jack Grealish for a similar role. But the former Aston Villa captain has struggled to live up to the expectations so far.
On current form, the Napoli attacker will be a major upgrade on Grealish. And it remains to be seen whether Manchester City can secure his services in the coming months. Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see how Real Madrid accommodate a player like Kvaratskhelia in their squad, especially with Vinicius Junior operating in a similar role.
