Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino are a part of the starting lineup as Liverpool prepare to take on Manchester City in the Community Shield tie.
The stage is set. The two best English teams from last season, Manchester City and Liverpool, are set to be reunited for the Community Shield tie, which is less than an hour away. Here’s how Liverpool have lined up.
Alisson Becker takes his place in goal, and there’s a largely familiar look in the defensive unit in front of him. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson are the two full-backs, with Virgil van Dijk having Joe Gomez as his partner at the heart of the Liverpool defence.

In midfield, captain Jordan Henderson is deployed in the no. 8 role that he flourished in towards the end of last season, with Georginio Wijnaldum the other box-to-box midfielder. Fabinho is the holding midfielder, with Naby Keita only making the bench.
Upfront, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino have caught up enough to make the starting lineup, but Sadio Mane has missed out for understandable reasons. Mane’s place in the side is taken by Divock Origi.

As for Manchester City, the big news is that Raheem Sterling leads the line, with Sergio Aguero only fit enough to make the bench, while summer signing Rodri makes his debut for the Premier League champions. Claudio Bravo starts in place of Ederson in goal.
