PSG are reportedly ready to offer €170 million to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who is also being targeted by Chelsea and Manchester United.
According to a report by Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is the subject of interest from PSG, who are plotting a staggering €170 million bid for the player. Chelsea and Manchester United are also in pursuit of the Lazio midfielder, having followed his progress for a long time.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is a player who has had a lot of excitement surrounding his talent in recent seasons. The Serbian midfielder has been one of the standout performers in the Serie A upon joining Lazio from Genk in the summer of 2015, with the player making rapid strides over the last two years.
Now firmly established as an instrumental figure for the Biancocelesti, the player’s powerful showings in midfield has helped him draw a lot of attention towards himself. The 2016-17 season has seen the 22-year-old come into his own, with seven goals and three assists in 21 appearances.
And while Lazio have fallen behind in the Serie A title race, Milinkovic-Savic has been a shining light. His exploits have not gone unnoticed either, with several top clubs across Europe following his progress. Among these, Chelsea and Manchester United have had their sights firmly set on the player.
At Chelsea, Tiemoue Bakayoko has flattered to deceive since making his summer move from AS Monaco. With the Frenchman blowing hot and cold, the Blues have not had a consistent ball carrier in midfield, making Milinkovic-Savic a viable target, who has the right combination of strength and creativity to add dynamism in the centre of the park.

Manchester United, on the other hand, look set to lose the services of Marouane Fellaini, who has been a key contributor under Jose Mourinho. The possible departure of the Belgian could leave the Red Devils short of midfielders, with Ander Herrera’s contract set to run out at the end of the season as well.
Milinkovic-Savic is, thus, an ideal target for the Manchester United, who could bolster his midfield by adding the Serb to his squad. But, the Premier League duo face stiff competition from PSG in pursuit of the 22-year-old, with the Ligue 1 outfit set to make an astounding offer to secure his services.
At Parc des Princes, Unai Emery currently has Adrien Rabiot, Marco Verratti, Javier Pastore and Thiago Motta as his options in midfield, with Julian Draxler and Angel Di Maria also used in the midfield trio at times.
But, Draxler and Di Maria are being heavily linked with a summer departure from PSG, while Motta is in the twilight years of his career, which could be the reason why Emery has set his sights on Milinkovic-Savic. And it looks like the Ligue 1 outfit are leaving no stone unturned in pursuit of the player.
As per the report, PSG are set table an astounding €170 million bid to sign Milinkovic-Savic, with the deal being conducted through Jorge Mendes. The offer indeed seems to be too good to refuse as Lazio could use the inflow of cash to make a number of signings.
Chelsea and Manchester United, though, will need to step up their interest in the Serbia international, if they are to secure their services. What looks certain for now is that Milinkovic-Savic is going places, as he continues to make rapid strides at Lazio.
