Real Madrid have had an offer rejected for wonderkid Alexander Isak, while Chelsea still have a chance of landing him according to reports
Isak is one of the top youth prospects in the world, and Manchester City and Chelsea have both been linked with moves for the youngster over the past few months.
As reported by Swedish paper Expressen, Real Madrid have been in negotiations with AIK over a potential transfer for Alexander Isak for a few weeks now. They report that Real Madrid have already had a bid of 80 million Swedish Kronor, which is almost 7 million pounds, rejected already.
Madrid have been looking to add youth players to their ranks, with the signing of the highly-rated Martin Odegaard an example of this.
However, Expressen report that Madrid do not have any guarantees when it comes to signing the youngster, as Bayern Munich, Chelsea and West Ham are all interested in the player.
The Swedish newspaper also report that Isak recently visited Madrid and took a tour of their training facilities. Negotiations are still ongoing, but Real Madrid’s offer included plenty of performance-based clauses which most clubs are hesitant to agree to when it comes to young players.
PSG and Juventus were also considering a move for Isak, but they are no longer in the race. A deal is not currently close, but could be done for the young striker before Christmas.
The 17-year-old Isak who has been dubbed the “New Zlatan Ibrahimovic” is considered one of the worlds top youth prospects. Such comparisons rarely make any sense, however, but Isak is clearly a player who shows immense potential.
At just 17, Isak is already 6″2 and has been a key part of AIK’s campaign so far. The Swede has already made 19 appearances for AIK this season – 5 of which have come as a substitute – banging in an impressive 10 goals and notching up 1 assist.
Isak is a pacy forward who has good finishing ability. He is also quite sound technically, and is comfortable when in possession of the ball.
An elegant striker for his height, he is also a good header of the ball and is a threat from set pieces. His vision is another attribute that will attract top clubs, with the youngster averaging 1 key pass per game this season.
Isak has already featured for the Swedish U-21 team despite only being 17 years of age, and will no doubt be called up to the Swedish senior team sooner rather than later.
His current contract runs until 2018.
