Chelsea FC captain John Terry has been linked with an end-of-season swansong move to Qatar.

Football has truly reached every nook and corner across the world, as new lucrative destinations pop up for the players to end their careers with one last bumper payday. Qatar is the latest destination to show their ambition, as they target star players, who are nearing the end of their careers. Chelsea FC captain John Terry, 34, is the latest player to be linked with a move to Qatar.

Chelsea FC may have suffered their worst start in 37 years, but that doesna t stop the rumour mill form churning new stories every day, especially when the ever present John Terry has mostly been relegated to the bench.

The former England captain faces a stark reality of being released in the summer, and has a difficult choice to make before the end of the season. Terry has a distinct possibility of being without any club in the Summer with Chelsea FC having a strict policy of offering a year-long contract to their older players.

.

The Mirror reports that the Qatar club Al Arabi, managed by Chelsea FC legend Gianfranco Zola, will be vying their luck for an ambitious end-of-season move. Zola, who has been teammates, is expected to use his personal connections to entice the former England captain with a move to the Middle Eastern country.

Terry Clubless?

Qatar offers an escape route from the ignominy of being released by the club, as Chelsea FC have been ruthless in releasing experienced players. Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard, who are known to be quite close to Terry, are prime examples.

Terry, though, has his suitors as Turkish club Fenerbahce have also entered the race for the 34-year-old’s signature, and a few Chinese Super League clubs have put their name in the hat too.

Qatar, though, are the favourites for his signature, with the country using a two-pronged approach to recruit well known stars ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
