Video: Jose Mourinho Says Arsenal FC Always Moan, Except ‘The One Time’

Chelsea FC emerged victorious against 9-men Arsenal FC with a 2-0 scoreline. An incident involving Deigo Costa and Gabriel marred the game with Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho shrugging aside suggestions of bad refereeing from Arsene Wenger, stating that the London side always moan when Chelsea play them, except for the one time when they won the game.

.

Gabriel and Diego Costa have a history with the latter having elbowed Gabriel during their La Liga days with Atletico Madrid and Villareal, respectively. Costa and Gabriel were once again at it, with the Spaniard provoking the Arsenal defender into getting himself sent off.

Arsenal FC manager Arsene Wenger slated the match referee for failing to send the Spaniard off when he appeared to slap Koscielny on the face in the build up to the incident.

Santi Cazorla was also sent off with a double yellow card in the second half as Arsenal finished the game with 9 men and just three points above Chelsea FC.

Mourinho says Arsenal always moan

Having recorded his second win of the league campaign, Jose Mourinho was in a buoyant mood and the Portuguese took a characteristic swipe at Arsene Wenger’s suggestion of referee aiding Chelsea FC win.

He was quoted saying by Goal.com in the aftermath of the game: “Where is the controversy? For me, no controversy. The game is about many different aspects, technical, tactical, emotional, physical. Normally the best team wins – we were the best team.

“We were dominant, we were controlled. Obviously let’s not be hypocritical and deny but playing with one man more is easier.

“I think I played against Arsenal 15/16 times and only once they didn’t moan. Maybe it was because they won that game. All the other matches, they have reasons for that.

“I played my first derby in September 2000 – to win a derby, emotional control. I’ve played derbies in Spain, Portugal, England, Italy and I always say the same words. You always need emotional control.”
