Manchester City v Liverpool FC – Team News, Possible Line-Ups,Tactics And Prediction - Vincent Kompany

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has revealed that Chelsea’s current lead at the top isn’t something by which his side are worried about as they are used to clawing back points at the end of the season.

Manchester City had the chance of reducing the gap at the top last weekend but could only manage a draw as a strong defensive showing by the league leaders denied the Champions a win. As a result, Manchester City are still five points of the Londoners.

Despite that, their captain Vincent Kompany felt that being in such situations before will help his side, a This just such a usual situation for us,a said Kompany. a Five points behind in January or February? Big deal!

a We feel very comfortable, as we have been in that position many times before. We don’t get over-excited, we don’t get over-confident, and we don’t get too desperate as well.

a We just have a job to do, and when we have to, usually we do turn up, so the team is ready for whatever happens next.a

Manchester City won their last two titles in dramatic fashion as late slips by Manchester United in the 2011-2012 season and Liverpool in 2013-2014 season handed them the titles. With Chelsea suffering a blip in late December and early January, there is every possibility that they could bottle it in the last few weeks.

Kompany also added that Manchester City’s latest signing Wilfried Bony will be a handful for opposition teams. When asked on how Bony will improve Manchester City, Kompany commented, a Strength, goals, the ability to bring other players into playa he has done it at Swansea so many times. He just links up really well.

wilfried bony

a He is another weapon to use between now and the end of the season, because you need your top strikers and with Edin Dzeko, Stevan Jovetic and Sergio Aguero, and now Bony, we have a lot of people in that department.

a Look at any team around us, and it’s the same a you do need those players around otherwise you are not going to make it.a

Manchester City’s next opponents are Hull City at home on Saturday and considering their opponent’s miserable form, City will be fairly confident in picking up the three points. In addition, Kompany and Manchester City will want to put in a good defensive display that his side haven’t been able to do ever since the Belgian was injured. After returning in the last three games, Kompany has looked shaky in the defense.
