Speaking after Manchester Uniteda s 4-2 win over city rivals Manchester City, Wayne Rooney confessed that his team was aware of Citya s weaknesses and made them pay for it during the derby while claiming that his team was ready for Jose Mourinhoa s Chelsea.

Manchester City came under the scanner for slacking off during the game with the likes of Yaya Toure being singled out for not contributing defensively. Rooney claimed that United were aware of this weakness and made them pay for it during the 4-2 rout at Old Trafford.

a We know some of the City players are not the best at getting back and defending and tracking runners and we felt we could make them pay for that.a

United next face Chelsea and Rooney believes that Manchester United are ready for Jose Mourinho while admitting that the fixture would be a severe test for the club.

a Wea re confident, wea re on a good run of form, wea ve beaten some very good teams in the last few games. It is a big test for us, Chelsea are top of the league. We will work and prepare on the training pitch and wea ll be ready for the game.a

Speaking about the title run-in, Rooney admitted that United could only focus on winning their remaining games while hoping to finish as high up the table as possible.

a Chelsea are in a very commanding position so we have to just trying to win our games. I think we are playing nice football, we are winning games and we have to continue that to the end of the season, finish as high up as we can, and then hopefully take form into next season.a
